Drug peddlers arrested

Namrup: Police arrested three drug peddlers with 6 grams of heroin on Sunday night.

The arrested trio were identified as Rituparna Gogoi (28) of Gauriabam, Bibek Singh (33) of BVFCL guest house and Ajit Handique (28) of Tengakhat.

A case was registered at Namrup Police Station under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The trio were sent to District Jail.

Namrup: More than 1000 people took to the streets in Namrup on Saturday as the  All Assam Tai  Ahom Student Union organized a torch rally opposing the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill, 2016.
