The Jeypore Block Congress Committee blocked the  Namrup-Jeypore road in protest against the alleged attempt to surrender plot in the name of Nagaland.  Former Naharkatia MLA   Pranati Phukan who led the protest  said ," We are sad to have hrard that our Central Government have agreed to surrender our land for the Nagalim.” Former minister Atuwa Munda said ," our Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is going to harm the interest of Assam at the instance of the Centre who is all out to appease the Naga.”  
The APCU (Assam Press Correspondent Union) 6th Bi-Annual Conference meet will take place  in Dibrugarh Lakhminath Bezbaruah Bhawan Chowkidingee  on December 23 and 24.  Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will be present as the   Chief Guest. Over 500 people hit the streets with a torch rally in Namrup in protest against the Centre's alleged move to compromise territory in the name of the much-hyped Nagalim. Led by the Namrup local AASU leaders, the men and women alike joined the torch rally on Monday evening. The protestors shouted slogans and asked the Centre to stop the move. A dilapidated condition of a vital historic road in Assam has forced hundreds of local residents in Dibrugarh to hit the streets demanding immediate steps to repair it.  Led by local AASU leaders, hundreds of people at APL Main Gate in Namrup blocked the Ahom era road connecting Kamargaon in Golaghat and Jeipore in Dibrugarh on Monday causing immense traffic snarl with a period of two hours. With banners and posters, the protesters thronged the Dhodar Ali to block it for two hours allowing many common commuters to suffer. The recovery of a body inside the Namrup Thermal Power Station Colony Boundary wall created no less sensation In the industrial town on Friday. But the sensation lasted for a couple of hours when police identified the body as Sukur Tati who was said to be a mental patient. Sukur, the son of Tufan Tati (30) was a resident of Sapekhati in Charaideo district.
