National Press Day observed in BTAD

KOKRAJHAR: The National Press Day-2019 was observed in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on Saturday.

Kokrajhar Press Club and district administration jointly organised the National Press Day here at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar to mark the national press day.

BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary graced as chief guest on the occasion. In his speech, Borgoyary has highlighted about the importance and responsibilities of the press/media persons in today's life as press media has been regarded forth estate in the country. He urged the media persons to be dedicated with positive responsibility.

KOKRAJHAR: The nationwide lockdown has evoked full response in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Areas to fight against the COVID-19 outbreak across the country. District administrations have initiated strong measures to enforce the lockdown that would end by April 15. KOKRAJHAR: Around 487 persons are being kept in the six quarantine centres set up in Kokrajhar district under strict observation with proper medical check up. The centres have been set up by district administration to check those persons who are coming from neighbouring states towards Assam in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
