Congress member Bhubneswar Kalita walked out of the meeting for not considering his proposals. Later hr said they would oppose the Bill inside and outside Parliament.

In a related development Congress leader and former chief minister Tarun Gogoi said the Bill if enacted would reduce the Assam Accord, 1985 and NRC  into a meaningless sheet of papers.

The AGP leaders met in Dispur in the afternoon and said they have not change their position and that they would pull out of the coalition the moment the Bill is passed in Parliament.
