Sonapur : One person has been killed and many injured when one bus and one truck collided at 8 pm on Tuesday at Sonapur near Guwahati in NH 37.
The person who has been killed has been identified as Dhal Chetri, Age 35 years. Many of the injured are in critical conditions and have been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital.
The critically injured people are Arun Vaidya of Sapekhati, Prakash Choudhury ( location unknown) . Sajad Ahmed of Bokakhat, Pranjit Dutta of Birubari in Guwahati, Daulat Singh and Mrs Pabitri Singh of Nepal.

A statelevel convention in Guwahati on Saturday asked both ULFA and the government to come forward for unconditional talk to help the state restore permanent peace. Initiatied by a circle of eminent people of the state led by Dr Hiren Gohain, a panel of experts at the Machkhowa ITA, listens to altogether 112 pressure groups before preparing a list of demands to help the state restore peace in the state. Kapil Das, a Guwahati based photo journalist of The Assam Tribune group of publications died today at Chennai. Kapil was suffering from various diseases for few months. The planning commission has allocated Rs 7,645 cr for Assam for the current fiscal. The amount was fixed at a meeting between Chief minister Tarun Gogoi and plan panel deputy chairman Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia in New Delhi on Monday.
