Ujjwala Divos in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar:  The Ujjwala Divos was celebrated in Kokrajhar along with rest of the state under Gram Swaraj Abhijan.Women beneficiaries were given away LPG sets on the occasion at free of costs to meet smoke free living in the state.

In Kokrajhar, the divos was organised at Owabari ground and distributed LPG sets among  beneficiaries,alloted from the ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG)  to promote the enhenced target of enrolling 8 crore LPG beneficiaries and connections across the country. In Kokrajhar, there estimated to cover up nearly 40,000 beneficiaries by May 5 next to meet healthy and smoke free environment in the region. BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary graced as guest on the occasion and handed over the LPGs among beneficiaries in the presence of huge publics.

District nodal officer, Kokrajhar Bikash Kumar Mahanta told that the Ujjwala Divos was celebrated at various ten venues today to make distribution and public awareness while using the LPG in their living. The district agencies have been organising ceremonially distribution on the day. He said that nearly 40,000 women beneficiaries are getting LPG connections in the district and so far necessary surveys are done, he said.

Among others, Bobita Brahma, Owner of Golodtouch enterprize, Kokrajhar, social activist Malati Rani Narzary were prominent attendees on the occasion.

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020.
