Need basic facilities in NSKs
Hojai: AIUDF leaders have alleged massive inconvenience of the people who have moved the authority to ensure their names in the updated NRC.
In a memorandum before DC Manvendra Pratap Singh, Hojai District AIUDF Committee requested the authority to provide minimum facilities to the people in all NSKs where Family Tree Verification process is under way.
The party leaders highlighted the problems faced by the people who have been coming from the far flung areas for family tree verification process at the NSKs where there is no sanitations, toilets, proper seating arrangements, drinking water, first aid facility.,etc.
"After submitting the memorandum, Deputy Commissioner immediately ordered all the three circle officer's of Hojai, Lanka and Daboka area to implement the order within one week of providing the necessary amenities to the denizens in all the NSK and NRC centre's", Said Helal Uddin Ahmed, President Hojai District AIUDF.

The Hojai police have arrested 12 gamblers as they were gambling on Thursday late night defying the restrictions imposed by the authorities. Diwali is back to illuminate the landscape with millions of earthen lamps. Potters are busy in making lamps for sale on the occasion. Now focus falls on an interior area of Amtola village, about 6 km from Hojai town where even the master degree holders are keeping busy with making earthen lamps. “This is our traditional business and I have also been engaged in this work for since 20 years,” said Rajbali Prasad a potter, who is an MA degree holder.
