Guwahati: A young couple Raj Kumar Choudhury and Priti Choudhury commited suicide in Ganeshguri Chariali at Sinha Lodge on Sunday night as they were unable to stay together as Priti was married to another person. The couple committed suicide together and left behind a note donating their dead body to the GuwahatiMunicipalityCorporationHospitalRaj Kumar Choudhurys father is a Mouzadar in Ghagrapar in Nalbari and he himself was an active Congress worker. Priti Choudhurt and he had known each other for a long time but she was married to another person and hence due to peer and family pressures they could not come together.
Priti had come to Guwahati on 14th April 2007 for Athmangala and ever since they have been staying together in Sinha Lodge after Priti ran away with Raj.They have been staying together till the tragic incident occurred on Sunday.

Suspected ULFA militants have hurled a hand grenade at the superintendent of police's office in Bongaigaon district on Monday. No casualty has been reported in the blast. The militants lobbed the grenade from the market side behind the office in the district headquarters of Bongaigaon town around 5.30 am when the office was closed. The Gauhati High Court on Monday granted bail to Peoples’ Consultative Group member Hiranya Saikia, who was arrested for ULFA link. According to information, the bail order came up when the court was hearing a bail petition moved on behalf of Saikia, Mr Saikia was also booked under the National Security Act.
