NEW DELHI: Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju has appealed to the political parties and civil society organizations in Nagaland to withdraw the poll boycott call.
In a statement issued here in the capital city of New Delhi BJP's election in charge in Nagaland said the Centre has been keen to resolve the issues confronting the people for decades. He said election is a constitutional obligation which needs to be participated.
Rijiju's statement came when the state party leaders are talking to the central leadership to find a way out to resolve the logjam where the civil society organizations convinced 11 major political parties to shy away from the February 27 polls for holding before implementing the peace frame agreement signed by the Centre and NSCN-IM. BJP, however, pulled out of the joint declaration and suspended the party signatory at the instance of the central leadership.
