Kohima: The Election Commission on Wednesday issued notification for the assembly polls in Nagaland slated for February 27 even after ten major political parties have decided to boycott it. BJP, however, have withdrawn its consent suspending a senior leader who signed the joint declaration allegedly without any consent from the competent authority.
According to the office of the state Chief Electoral office, the candidates are now free to file their nomination papers before the returning officers from 11 AM to 3 PM. The returning officers will receive the nominations till February 7. Talking to Assam Times, the nomination can be filed before the 7 returning officers based in Deputy Commissioner’s Offices.
