RSS preparing BJP’s poll pitch in NE

 GUWAHATI: RSS on Sunday proved its might of manpower as it held a huge rally in Guwahati where more that 50,000 people patiently listened to Mohan Bhagawat. The rally in the gateway to the north eastern region assumes significance in the run up to the assembly polls in Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland.

 

Titular tribal heads from Hajong, Tiwa, Garo, Jayantiya, Mising, Karbi, Naga, Khasi and Hajong along with nearly ten heads of the neo Vaishnavite monasteries shared the dias with the RSS chief as he talked of culture to be revered and respected. All Assam BJP leaders including chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the rally to galvanise the party into a huge political force.

 

In his address, Assam unit Secretary Umesh Chakraborty said the people of Assam should be like Lachit Barphukan to guard and save the soil of the North East. Talking to reporters in the sidelines of the rally Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev said only RSS has the might to save Assam and its people. From early in the morning dressed in RSS uniform thousands of people thronged the rally venue and kept waiting for Mohan Bhagawat who arrived in the venue at 2 PM. Mayong titular king Tarani Singha heaped huge praise on the rally saying that RSS was deeply committed to preserve and protect the Hindutva culture.
