MLA opens more classrooms in Batadrava

Batadrava MLA Angoorlata Deka opened four  newly constructed Classrooms including toilets in Pachim Silpukhuri Adarxa Higher Secondary School and Uttar Silpukhuri Secondary School on Wednesday.

The Classrooms with toilets have been completed with an expenditure of Rs.48 lakh under Multi sectoral development Programme.
 In her speech, Deka said thrse additional Classrooms would be of immense help for the schools to accommodate the growing number of students.. She also said that the BJP led government was keen to develop Batadrava on all fronts.

Teachers, students and their parents attended the meeting where she formally opened the additional classrooms.

The Batadrava police despite their busy schedule, undertook a tree plantation drive at police station premises and its surrounding on Monday to commemorate World Environment Day. The cops of Batadrava police station enthusiastically engaged in tree plantation at their premises.Around 50 saplings of fruits and medicinal were planted during the plantation drive.

A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were critically injured when a Mahindra Bolero SUV hit their bike on the Nizdimou Bypass near Bebejia, Nagaon on Sunday evening. In a shocking incident, a 50 year old man named Tapan Pal of Juria in the Nagaon district woke up while he was being taken to the funeral. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon when his family members and relatives presuming the man to be dead and asked fellow villagers to prepare Tapan for his last rites and funeral. Upgradation and improvement of Borduwa-Baribazar PWD link road in Batadrava, Nagaon has started on Friday. The 8.20 km long road to be constructed under Assam State road project (World Bank aided) at an estimated cost of Rs 14.41crore will benefit the inhabitants of Batadrava, Dhaniabhety, Gosaikhanda,Baribazar and its adjoining areas. This was announced by MLA Angoorlata Deka after laying the foundation stone for the road upgradation. The Jamunamukh police probing the recent gangrape and murder of a teacher arrested a youth on Thursday. Sensation prevailed at Kawoimari, Barchunghat in Kampur  following recovery of a woman's body on Wednesday afternoon in the Kapili river. The body was discovered by some local people who noticed the body floating in the river. They immdiately called the police.  The body is sent for autopsy. The woman was aged around 50 years. Meanwhile, local people of Kawoimari suspected the incident as a case of murder after rape. "She was raped by miscreants before she was killed. Several injury marks were also visible on her body", a local said. Police have started their investigation.
