Illegal settlers detained in Tinsukia

MARGHERITA: The Police have detained more than a dozen illegal Bangladeshi settlers in Margherita on Thursday.

Margherita unit of AJYCP leaders and activists who spotted them loitering on the bank of the river Burhidihing and after questioning them police men came and took them in detention.

Talking to Assam Times, local AJYCP leaders said for the last several months they have been working at a nearby brick kiln staying in some huts. Now AJYCP workers are looking for some other settlers in the area. When police questioned them they have failed to give any convincing reply.
