National integration tour to Mumbai

A 22 member team, comprising 20 students and two teacher guides from different Higher Secondary Schools in Kokrajhar district is on the way to Mumbai,Pune and Goa by train for national integration tour(NIT) under the part of Operation Sadbhavana of the red horn division of Indian army to pave way students knowledge building in their future life in the country.

The tour was organized by 3rd Rajput battalion of Indian Army, Kokrajhar for fifteen days and would be concluded by December 4 next.

Anurag Agarwal IGP (BTAD) flagged off the tour at Patharghat in Kokrajhar. Agarwal extended his best wishes to the tour team and express his hope that students will be benefitted of knowledge building through the tour. The team would be visiting prominent educational institutions, renowned civil institutes, and historical sites in Mumbai, Pune and Goa. The tour will make the students feel connected with mainstraem and give exposure to reach heritage of the country. The students from remote schools representing different communities, which are included Bodo,Assamese,Nepali,Rabha,Advasi,Muslim are selected to be part in the tour.

Col. Jaiveer Singh, CO, Rajput Army said that it is an initiative to bring awareness among students’ knowledge building. The tour team will visit different historical sites and important places of the Mumabi,Pune and Goa in their scheduled tour. The tour will create encouragement while building integration in the the country.

‘The tour will enhance the vision of young students and will help them in shouldering responsibilities towards nation building’, Singh said.

Brig Gagab Deep,Brigadier of 11 Mountain Regiment of Indian army, district administration officials were also attended the programme.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language. Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi) Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar.
