AGP, AGP(P) merger on Oct 14

The Asom Gana Parishad (Pragatisheel) is all set to merge with the Asom Gana Parishad on October 14 when the party will observe its foundation day. The decision came up at a meeting of the AGP unification panel with the AGP(P) leaders in Dispur on Friday.

It was threadbare discussion when the leaders of both the parties discussed in detail the placement of AGP(P) leaders in the party’s different distirct bodies. The meeting ended with a positive note. The road to unification of PLP and TGP will be cleared on October 14.

After the end of the crucial meeting, former Chief Minister and AGP(P) president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said the process is in progress on expected line and it’s a peoples’ demand. He, however, said he is ready to speak only after October 14.
