Two circle officers surrender in APSC scam

Two more circle officers wanted in the nefarious APSC scam have surrendered before police three days after they went underground.

Gitali Doley, the Gogamukh circle officer in Dhemaji district has surrendered before the special operation unit set up to probe the scam.

The daughter of former minister Sumitra Patir reached Kahilipara in Guwahati on Friday morning and surrendered before the investigators who immediately arrested her.

Hours after it, Baharul Islam Chaudhury, who was posted as circle officer in Hailakandi surrendered before the authority to be arrested.

Before that Nagaon tax superintendent Sunayana Aidew surrendered before the police. With this, the police team probing the scam have arrested 21 out of 25 wanted officers.

The trio are expected to be produced before the special court which remanded 18 others to 14 days police custody. All of them appeared in the handwritten test three months back.
