Free Health Camp for Physically disable
The Dibrugarh Administrative District Social Welfare conducted a free health camp in Namrup for the physically disabled persons in coordination with Namrup Town Committee at Namrup Sahitya Sabha Auditorium.
Neetu Sonowal Chairman of Namrup Town Committee opened the camp participated by a team of 11 doctors from Assam Medical College Dibrugarh. The team comprises Dr. M.Handique Asst.Prof ( Medicine ) , Dr. C.J. Bora Asst.Prof ( Paediatric) , Dr. D.J. Bhuyan Asst.Prof ( Psychiatrist ) , Dr. N.P. Chetia Asst.Prof. ( Orthopaedics ) , Dr. M.Gohain Regisatrar ( ENT ) , Dr. N . Borah , Registrar.
More than 100 physically disabled patients were checked up and received free medicines before the end of the camp.

A huge herd of wild elephants unleashed no less reign of terror in Jeypore area in Namrup destroying a house on Friday. Talking to Assam Times, local resident Bijoy Gowala, whose house was damaged said,”we came to see the elephants forcing us to flee from the house at around 6 in the evening. Over 500 people hit the streets with a torch rally in Namrup in protest against the Centre's alleged move to compromise territory in the name of the much-hyped Nagalim. A dilapidated condition of a vital historic road in Assam has forced hundreds of local residents in Dibrugarh to hit the streets demanding immediate steps to repair it. Led by local AASU leaders, hundreds of people at APL Main Gate in Namrup blocked the Ahom era road connecting Kamargaon in Golaghat and Jeipore in Dibrugarh on Monday causing immense traffic snarl with a period of two hours. The recovery of a body inside the Namrup Thermal Power Station Colony Boundary wall created no less sensation In the industrial town on Friday. But the sensation lasted for a couple of hours when police identified the body as Sukur Tati who was said to be a mental patient.
