3 minors held for hostel murder

The Udalguri police probing the sensational Sidon Basumatary murder case in 2016 arrested three hostel boys in this connection. 

The trio were alleged to have killed the student before keeping the body hanging inside the hostel campus. One of the accused confessed to have done the entire cold blooded murder.

School authorities have been trying to call it a suicide, the victim’s father  Dr.Bapan Basumatary in his compliant at the  Harisinga police station alleged it a cold blooded murder. 

The post-mortem report also contradicted the claim of school authorities that the victim died on November 8 and till 9.30 AM the students saw him alive. The post-mortem report allegedly confirmed that the victim died before 3 AM of November 8.

The victim's father finding no alternative and for justice of his son's killing knocked the doors of Gauhati HC for an impartial inquiry into the matter and punishment of guilty . He  also wrote to Prime Minsters' Office on February 25,2017 for proper inquiry into the death of his son.The PMO accepting the application registered it vide  PMO' PG/E/2017/0113275 forwarded the case to home and political dept. of state govt. on May 17 last which simultaneously assigned it to P.K Dutta AIGP for an impartial inquiry into the matter.

Meanwhile the victim's father had personally investigated the matter finding a clue that one of the accused Alin Daimari left for his home bag and baggage on the next day of the incident.

Talking to this correspondent the victim's father said that it was quite clear that the school headmaster Pronit Basumatary is putting his every possible effort to save the dreaded criminals.

In yet another tragic incident, a youth was trampled to death by a loner wild jumbo in Paneri Tea Estate in Udalguri at about 10 pm on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Jaichan Kujur (25). Locals told that Kujur was confronted by the loner while he was on his way back home.
