Child protection institution opens
A community child protection institute was inaugurated on Monday at Baganpara Kachugaon to ensure welfare of the rescued children in Kokrajhar and its adjoining areas.
Digambar Narzary, chairman of Nedan Foundation, Kokrajhar opened the child protection institute, which was initiated by Nedan Foundation, Kokrajhar.
The Nedan Foundation is known as an Institute for Protecting Children from different situation such as abuse, trafficking, molestation, neglect and from any fearing situation.
Since 2004 Nedan has been serving/ working with “CHILD” in Kokrajhar district. Considering the child as a top priority of developmental agenda; Nedan visualized that providing opportunity to the children is similar effort as farmer working in the field.
The institute will provide protective learning environment for children and adolescents and letting them to make their own choices of life to live with standard'. Nedan had planned out this objective in accordance with children and adolescent expectation.

The 7th edition of the northeast Butterfly meet was concluded at Raimona National Park in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Forest & Environment Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the event at Kachugaon.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)
