Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

 A pall of gloom descends in Kokrajhar when five children met watery grave in the district in the post flood scene during that last 24 hours.  All the minor boys  were drowned in two different villages in Gosaaigaon circle . There seems some let up in the flood situation in Kokrajhar district on Monday where six people died snd nearly 1 lakh rendered homeless. The water level of the major rivers seems to have shown a receding trend from the afternoon and if this trend continues, the flood waters would recede gradually. The current flood wave is learnt to have damaged a huge quantity of rice to the tune of 1000 quintal, stored at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown in Kokrajhar.There seems to be no respite in the flood wave which brings brimful misery to the people in the BTAD areas.
