Arrested on false complaint: Paul
A special court in Guwahati sent Rakesh Paul to 14 days police custody hours after Bhangagarh police station rearrested the former APSC chairman who procured bail three days back.
Police rearrested Paul acting on a complaint that he received ₹50,000 advance from a candidate to ensure selection of the candidate. Paul and one of his associates would be grilled in this connection.
Talking to reporters at the court premises after production he said that he was rearrested on a false complaint and that there was evidence of taking bribe from the candidate.
The Supreme Court granted bail to Paul after the special court failed to frame charges against him who was arrested by Dibrugarh police in November 7,2016.
