Conference on library held
An international conference on Transforming Library 2017 has began with three day programme scheduled at Central Institute of
Technology in Kokrajhar from
Saturday.
The conference has been organized by central
library, CIT Kokrajhar in association with department of
library and information science, Guwahati University.Resource person and participants from Sri Lanka, USA, Nepal participated in the conference.
Prasanna Ranaweera, director of
National Institute of Library and Information science, University of
Colombo, Sri Lanka graced
as chief guest on the inaugural session.
Kampa Borgoyary, BTC deputy
chief inaugurated the conference that witnessed international speakers on
library and information science in the world.Borgoyary has lauded the conference which will be bringing information gathering about
library knowledge and information communication across the globe.
Sangrang Brahma, organizer of the conference told that it is an initiative to bridge
library communication and information sciences
library plays a vital role in the overall development of the society.

A marathon competition was orgaised to create awareness on anti-social activities like crimes against women along with Durga Puja celebration at Salakati in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
