Angawadi workers stag dharna

Hundreds of Angawadi Workers from parts of the Kokrajhar district joined hands in the sit in strike near DC office in Kokrajhar on Friday seeking early withdrawal of agreement of Akhayapatra Foundation for Mid Day Meal implementation, enhance salaries of Angawadi workers 5,000 from 1000 and release of 12 months arrears for the workers. 

 The strike was organized by Sadou Assam Madhyana Bhajon Karmachari Sanstha, Kokrajhar district unit. Agitators participated with banner, placards and shouted slogans early seeking enhance of salaries and withdrawal of Akhayapatra foundation agreement for the greater interest of Angawadi workers. 

A memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister of Assam through Kokrajhar deputy commissioner demanded early inclusive solution of the demands of the Angawadi workers in the region.
