NDFB-S link man held

Kokrajhar police arrested a lineman of NDFB-S from Jharbari village under Patgaon police outpost today.He was identified as Birkhang Narzary and recovered cash 39,000 along with mobile handset,passbook,a bike. On his revealed led,police also recovered cash 2,10,000 from residence of NDFBS wanted cadre Koninder Basumatary alias Komendar alias Khrao Khrao at Jharbari. The recovered amount extorted from different sources and supposed to handed over to the banned outfit for carrying subversive activities.

ULFA activist captured in Dibrugarh while trying to plant bomb timed for 15th August

Dibrugarh : One programmed Time device fitted with IED was recovered from a ULFA militant in Dibrugarh when he was on his way to plant it at the Parade ground in which the District Administration would be holding the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th of August 07. The device was timed to go off on the 15th of August 07 The suspect has been identified as Bitupon Moran of Hebetagaon in Makum. Moran was captured near the fire station when he was on his way to plant the bomb. Moran confessed that he was a ULFA member and had joined ULFA two years ago. It may be mentioned that four years ago on 15th of August 07, a powerful bomb blast had exploded in the parade ground in Dhemaji killing 13 people including 7 students.

4 Assam candidates clears Civil Service Exams, 07

It’s good news for people of Assam. Four candidates from the soil of Assam have cleared Civil Service Examination, 2007. The results of the examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission have been declared on Friday. The successful candidates from the state are namely Nabanita Chakrabarty of Guwahati, Rahul Kakati from Sivasagar, Nayanjyoti Nath from Jamuguri in Sonitpur district, Nilav Chandra Sen Gupta from Roha in Nagaon.

Driver association conference from Dec 11

The All Assam Govt Driver & Handiman Association has decided to hold it's 13th biennial conference with three-days-long programne scheduled from December 11 here at Science College auditorium in Kokrajhar. 

Kiran Buragohain, president and Lamar ultimately Islam Borbhuyan, general secretary of the association told the newsmen on Friday that the association has been organizing the conference with long programme scheduled where over  500 delegates from various states of the country are participating. He said that the association would discuss about the issue and problems of the govt driver and handiman that are facing several hardships during their performance. They have alleged that govt has not been stepped to implement the demand and issues that raised by the association. 

They demanded proper facilities, hike of salaries as per govt norms and make suitable arrangements to the govt driver and handiman of the state

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will grace as chief guest on the open session of the conference on December 13 next.
