Monika Devi flags off State Sports Day

Leading weightlifter of the country Monika Devi from Manipur, the chief guest in the silver jubilee edition of the Abhiruchi Sports Day which is celebrated all over the State today flagged off mass jogging rally from Chandmari, Guwahati this morning. The Sports Day has been organising since 1983 on the occasion of the birthday of Arjuna award winner Bhogeswar Baruah.

This time the State sports persons, who have represented the country in various international events during this year will be felicitated at a function to be held in December next, the organisers informed.
