JFA to remember Mithu Choudhury on 26 May

Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA), while condoling the untimely demise of journalist Mithu Choudhury on 19 May 2017, organizes a memorial meeting at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on Friday next. Earlier the JFA urged Assam chief minister Sarbanand Sonowal to sanction some financial help to the bereaved family.

Mithu, 53, breathed his last on Friday evening at his rented residence in the city and his cremation was done in the same evening. He left behind his wife, only son and a host of relative & well wishers. He was an honorable member of both JFA and GPC.

The soft spoken scribe started his journalism career two decades back and lately was associated with popular Bengali daily ‘Dainik Jugashankha’ for many years. For some time he also worked for ‘Sakal Bela’. Often contributed news based articles for various news portals, Mithu was suffering from various illness for few years.
