A huge area in Tinsukia district bordering Arunachal Pradesh seems to have become a safe den for a section of rebels to unleash terror.
Apart from ULFA, some NSCN (K) rebels are believed to have been moving in Ledo and Margherita giving the security forces enough reasons to be worried.
Assam Rifles claimed to have captured a suspected NSCN (IM) rebel from Ledo area on Saturday. Identified as Vikram Chakma, the local resident of Changlang district was held from a house in Saliki village. A foreign made pistol was also seized from him. Police interrogation is going on.
