The ABSU, NDFB(P), PJACBM have again reiterate demand of separate stateBodoland organised a mass shaving of heads in protest against government’s attitude towards Bodoland issue and demands.The ABSU and its’ movement groups observed two-hour betrayal dharna in Kokrajhar near DC office on Thursday.
Over thousand members and activists from ABSU,NDFB(P),PJACBM with banner,placards joined hands in the two-hour dharna staged started from 10 amshowing ‘betrayal day’ in protest against government as they had promised for holding tripartite talks over Bodoland issue by April 14 which is endingtomorrow during mass hunger strike in March 15 last.
Protesting government’s insincerity attitude towards solving of Bodoland state demand,the ABSU,NDFB(P),PJACBM leaders and members shaved their heads on the mass dharna programme to put pressure government for solving Bodoland issues through political dilaogue. The movement had wanted early invitation for tripartite talk from government. But to the matter of great shame and disappointment the Government of India has failed to keep their assurance this time also and the much awaited tripartite talk in political level has not taken place which is deplored and deprecated. The joint movement group has expressed their distaste and discontentment and has vociferously condemned this act of repeated betrayal on the part of the Government of India. For which why they have to initiate more agitation programmes for Bodoland demand.
Shaving his head Promod Boro,president of ABSU said that the students union and its allied movement groups have been demanding early creation of Bodoland state Article 2 & 3 of Indian constitution,yet no initiative was saw in this regard.Government had ensured to hold tripartite talks by April 14,yet no any formal letter for talk was reached to the organisations,Boro said adding that students union and allied organisations are ready to continue their mass movement in coming days.
He has declared more agitation programmes which are included 24-hours proposed Bodoland bandh on April 25,national highway would be blockade for 168 hours on May 20 next. He has termed that government is lier in their promised that kept to hold tripartite talks by written in last March month.
Dhiren Boro,president NDFB(P) having shaves his head said that they have shaved their heads to show betrayal on government as they didn’t take any mesaures to solve Bodoland issues.He said that ABSU and allied organisations are taking mass democratic movement seeking early solution of Bodolnad through political dialogue.But,governments are not stressing to solve our demands,that is why ABSU and agitated groups protested government’s attitudes.Boro has warned mass vigorous movement for Bodoland in coming days if their demands are not meet in earliest manner.
“If time compelled arms struggled would carried out to put pressure government for Bodoland state in coming days.We are organising democratic agitation,but government has been delayed our demand and issues.Time will force us to take new way to put pressure government in coming days if their demands are not come in reality”,Boro said.
The joint movement group said, ‘We appeal the Government of India to immediately hold the talk in political level to resolve the Bodoland Issue thereby to ensure land and political rights of the Boro people living in proposed Bodoland; to ensure political right to the Bodos living outside the proposed Bodoland area and to grant ST (Hills) status to the Boro people living in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. The movement groups are determined to continue thedemocratic mass movement until and unless the Government of India concedes the demand’.
Among others,ex-MPs UG Brahma,SK Bwiswmuthiary,ledaers from NDFBP,PJACBM were prominent attendeesin the betrayal day observation.
