An workshop on biodiversity based sustainable commercial organic farming was held at CIT conference hall in Kokrajhar on Thursday.
Nearly hundred farmers from different districts of BTAD and its adjoining areas,which included Kokrajhar,Chirang,Baksa,Udalguri,Sonitpur participated in the workshop,which was organised by Orai Swmkhwr,a Kokrajhar based NGO,working for organic farming. The workshop discussed on various aspects organic farming, making vermi compost,leaf compost,organic pesticides,organic vitamin,mushrom cultivation. Gautam Bhagawati, KVK,Kokrajhar,Bipul Brahma,organic expert,Rajesh Basumatary,social activist were graced as speakers on the occasion.
Amarjit Basumatary,president of the NGO said that the workshop has organised to create awareness on organic farming in the region through which human health could gain healthy health.He said that intoday’s context human life should get organic crops,food to susatain longibility.
‘Farmers also could produce huge crops through organic farming in the state.We must come forward to make crop through organic system’,Basumatary said.
