Indefinite hunger strike continues

The indefinite hunger strike of ABSU and it's movement group NDFB-P and PJACBM decided to call off the hunger strike by tomorrow early morning following government has given an assurance for holding tripartite talks in political level within April 14 next over Bodoland issue and demands.

The indefinite hunger strike enters five day today and witnesses of several organization and leaders thronging in the strike venue, included Ranjan Daimary,founder chairman of NDFB, Taren Boro, president of Bodo sahitya sabha, Padmashri Kameswar Brahma, ex MPs Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary, BTC MCLAs which gained encourage among agitators on the day. Bibekananda Choudhury, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner handed over a letter from Home and Political department, government of Assam to the agitators which has indicated positive for holding tripartite talks with movement groups in April.

Promod Boro, president of ABSU told that the ABSU and it's movement groups accepted the letter sent from state government and seriously studied the letter which has yet to declare authenticity of date for talks. He said that the students union and allied organizations have been sending a letter to state government urging inclusive nomenclature of the talks with organization to meet early solution. Boro said the indefinite hunger strike would be called off by early tomorrow morning. We will call off formally tomorrow morning in the presence of huge gathering. 'We will observe closely over the government 's strategy on Bodoland issue', Boro said. He also said that declared agitation programmes would be implemented, which included women's 4 hour Maha dharna in every district headquarters on March 25, 100 hours national Highway blockade on first week of April next.

Bibekananda Choudhury, DC said that he has handed over a letter to agitator groups inviting for tripartite talks by April 14 next. He said that government has been taking positive step towards holding peace talks. Dhiren Boro, president of NDFB-P demanded early solution of Bodoland state issue. He said that the movement groups are ready to hold vigorous mass movement in coming days to put pressure government if their demands are not meet in earliest manner.

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar.
