Shivratri in Raha

Shiv temples in Raha area in Nagaon district are also teeming with many devotees along with many other places on Friday on the occasion of Shivratri. From early in the morning the devotees started making huge queues at the Shiv temple premises to offer puja to the Lord Shiva, the god of death and destruction. Cultural functions are also lined up on the occasion. The puja us set to end on Saturday.

Raha College opens new chapter

Raha College will be now a seat of science and commerce learning in Assam. The college has introduced its proposed Science and Commerce streams on Wednesday. Nagaon Addl. Many local organizations in Raha on Saturday have reiterated the demand to set up the proposed AIIMS in the area. Attending a huge public meeting in Raha, the speakers representing various local organizations have urged the people of the entire district to keep mounting pressure on the governments in Delhi and Dispur to ensure the hospital.

Raha demands release of protestors

The local people in Raha have served a 7 day ultimatum to the government to take a final call on the proposed AIIMS in the area.
