Bridge or death trap?

Bridge or death trap?

A bamboo bridge in Udalguri over the river Noa, precisely, exposes the much-hyped development in BTAD areas. This is less a bridge and more a death trap waiting to collapse at any moment thanks to the lackadaisical attitude of the administration.

The make shift bamboo has been the staple means if surface communication for the people of a huge area in Mwdoubari MCLA has been linking Khoirabari, Hapabari, Pakimuri, Deur, Thepakhat, Kuhiyabil, Rupatol, Majarchuba, Kabir-Ali villages since past 25 years.

The scene gets worse when heavy rainfall washes away the bridge leaving the people hapless who gave no option but to use boat. Despite repeated requests, the authority has yet to blink.
