Gwthar Bathou San observed in Udalguri

It was for the first time that a full fledged government  holiday was implemented  in entire BTC region on the ocassion of Gwthar Bathou San  (Bathou Day ) .All the Govt institutions including schools, colleges  in BTC remained closed. Every Bathou Mandir of the district including some school held Bathou Puja.

As per rituals the second Tuesday of the Magh month is sacred to the people of Bathou faith. In connection to this the Hirimba Bathou Thansali of Chinakona near Khoirabari of Udalguri district observed the Bathou Puja with day long programme. The programme was started with Araj  (Prayer).Religious prayers and  meeting was held on the ocassion. BTC EM Lmshraw Daimary took part in the occasion. He requested all the people  of the area to devote themselves for peace and communal harmony among different sections of people . Cultural troops also performed on the ocassion abd delighted the audience.
