NTPC Bongaigaon celebrates 52nd Raising Day

KOKRAJHAR, November 8, 2026 — NTPC Bongaigaon, Salakati, celebrated the 52nd Raising Day of NTPC Limited on November 7, reaffirming its commitment to operational excellence, employee welfare and environmental sustainability.

The celebration was held at the New Administrative Building, where Executive Director and Head of Project, Arnab Maitra, hoisted the NTPC flag, followed by the rendition of the NTPC Geet. Senior officials, Heads of Departments, representatives of unions and associations, and employees attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Maitra highlighted NTPC's journey since its establishment in 1975 and its transformation into India's largest integrated power utility. He also underlined NTPC Bongaigaon's contribution to reliable power generation in the North Eastern Region, operational efficiency, ash utilisation, environmental conservation and community development.

A major highlight was the felicitation of employees for their professional achievements and humanitarian contributions. Five employees received the Employee of the Year Awards, while six were honoured with Power Excel Awards for professional excellence. Two employees were also conferred the Manveeyata Puraskar in recognition of their compassion, humanitarian service and social responsibility.

The celebrations included a walkathon and plantation drive organised earlier in the day to promote physical fitness and environmental awareness. A ceremonial balloon release and cake-cutting ceremony also marked the occasion.

Employees subsequently joined the live broadcast of the Raising Day celebrations from NTPC's Corporate Centre, including the address by the company's Chairman and Managing Director.
