Seminar on Bodo medium education development held

A seminar on the topic of 'Bodo medium education: It's's present and future status' was held at Swrang High School ground during the celebration of Golden Jubilee of Kokrajhar district Bodo Sahitya Sabha on Thursday in Kokrajhar district.

The seminar was organized with coinciding the Golden Jubilee celebration, which was started from today with two day programme scheduled at Swrang High School in Kokrajhar district. Noted writer Baneswar Basumatary, chaired the seminar. Gopinath Borgoyary, former general secretary of the Bodo sahitya sabha inaugurated the seminar.Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member inaugurate cultural competition, organized in connection with golden jubilee celebration.

Khrishna Gopal Basumatary, director of UN Academy, Parmeswar Brahma, principal, Basic Training Centre, Kokrajhar graced as resource persons and presented their papers in the seminar.

Khrishna Gopal Basumatary said that the medium education is under developing in the state, which was started in 1963 as medium of instructions . He said the Bodo medium education system should be developed through the educational steps for which why sahitya sabha and several organizations should take bold step while bringing educational way. The Bodo medium education has also good status along with some other mediums in the state.

‘We must send our generation to the Bodo medium education to pave way wel develop education system across the state’, he said adding that teacher should teach the students with bold dedication and students should also be take education in mother tongue through which Bodo medium education could be gained properly. He has lauded the Bodo sahitya sabha for organizing such seminar and workshop where discuss and sharing of information could be gathered among Bodo communities.

Padmashri (Dr) Kameswar Brahma, president Bodo sahitya sabha will grace as chief guest, Hagrama Mohilary, BTC chief and Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma will attend as guests on the open session of the celebration on Friday.

Kokrajhar, May 2:  A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
