Beti Bachao,Beti Padhao programme in Kokrajhar

With the view to generating awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services meant for women, the 16th battalion(Bn) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Ranighuli organized Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao programme under Samajik Chetna Abhyan at Ultapani ME School ground in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.

A cultural rally was carried out comprising school children,villagers and SSB personnel in the programme followed a drama presentation by song & drama division, Guwahati,which highlighting awareness on the radical & social issues like, gender equality, education for women, medical aid and health issues, safety in public transport system etc among society.

A medical civic action,veterinary civic action programmes for the border people and their animals are also conducted side by side of cultural programmes. Over two hundred people and hundred animals & birds were given treatment.

Doneswar Goyary,BTC executive member graced as chief guest on the occasion. AKC Sing,CO,SSB, Dr. Arif Ahmed, Capt. Somik Talukdar,Rajput army, Ultapani , Dr. UK Barahali, RNB Hospital Kokrajhar, Mangal Singh Gurung, VCDC chairman were present in the programme.

Villagers from greater Ultapani area appreciated and conveyed thanks to the conducting colorful programme and taking awareness initiative steps by SSB and requested to conduct such programme regularly in the area so that more and more border people may be benefited.

Sharp Rise in Malaria Cases in Kokrajhar: Two Deaths Reported

Kokrajhar district is grappling with a significant malaria outbreak, with 1,991 cases reported up to November 20, 2024, marking a stark rise from 256 cases recorded in 2023.
