Seven injured in Kokrajhar

Seven persons received serious in different two road mishaps in Kokrajhar town on Saturday evening. 

Six persons sustained serious injuries due to Eon vehicle hit a scooty and bicycle at Tengapara in Kokrajhar town late last evening at around 8.30pm. Injuries were admitted immediately at MRM Hospital in Kokrajhar. They were identified as Badal Chouhan, Raja Brahma, Hatarki Mohilary, Mrinal Brahma, Dwimu Basumatary and Niranjan Basumatary. 

In separate mishap at Bhawanipur near NRL oil depot, a person received serious injured. He was identified as Daoharu Narzary

The BJP has announced the second list of of candidates for Assam Assembly polls. The list has 54 names a day after it was finalized at a meeting chaired by party president Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Friday. The party had earlier announced the names of six candidates. The third and final list of the contesting candidates for the State polls will be announced on March 9. The notification for the first phase of polls in the State will be issued on March 10. A 24-hour Kamrup Bandh was called by the co-ordination committee of different trade bodies and chambers of commerce protesting the recent bomb blast at Athgaon.
