Children book released at press club

A collection of adventure stories in Assamese named Kutkut-Tuktukar Abhiyan by journalist-writer Nilotpal Barua was released at Guwahati Press Club on Thursday. Published by Pratishruti Prakashan, the book comprises eight stories, which were earlier published in popular Assamese children monthly ‘Sofura’. The book was officially released by Rupam Barua, editor of Sofura in presence of journalists Nava Thakuria, Bedabrat Bora, Abinash Sharma etc.

Guwahati again organized a green corridor to facilitate a critically ailing baby to rush to New Delhi for better treatment drawing huge applause across the country on Sunday. The green corridor was provided to the ambulance carrying the four-month-old boy to the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport by the Kamrup (metro) district administration which helped the baby quickly reach the airport. A low intensity 3.4 earthquake shook the north eastern state of Manipur  on Sunday striking no less panic for many people who feared the rerun of the 2015 jolt. The Assam government is handing over the Louis Berger scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) acting on the Gauhati High Court order which received some crucial papers from CID pertaining to the multi crore which surfaced in 2015.  Sources told Assam Times that Dispur will write to the country’s premier investigation agency in a day or two asking for a thorough probe into the multi crore scam.
