ADF cadres held

Security forces apprehended four cadres of Adivasi Dragon Fighter (ADF),a militant outfit at Amlaiguri area near Satsang Bihar durin a joint search operation in Kokrajhar district today.

Based on specific information regarding movement of the ADF militant outfit at Amlaiguri, a joint operation was carried out by Kokrajhar Police and 210 Cobra Battalion.The joint operational team reached Amlaiguri and waited for a while. Further information reached about movement of the cadres at South Bhomraguri and the team immediately cordoned the area and apprehended four ADF cadres along with arms in Kokrajhar district.

They were identified as Jonash Murmu (26) of Chandpur of Chirang, Mangaldoi Murmu (28) of Sidli, Birbal Soren (27 of Harinaguri Kokrajhar and Manak Hembrom(26) of Rajendrapur, Gossaigaon.

A country made INSAS rifle with magazine, four country made pistol, five rounds of 7.62 mm pistol, a 9 mm live ammunition, six country made bomb and three mobile phones were recovered their possesion.

A case has been registered with Serfanguri PS vide case No. 72/2016 U/S- 120(B)/121/121(A)/122 IPC, R/W Sec. 25(1-A) Arms act, R/W Sec. 4/5 E.S Act.

‘Search operation against militant outfits has been intensified in the district as well region.Several numbers of militant cadres of different organisation were apprehended and some members were killed during encounters in the region’,said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.
