NDFB(S) cadre held

Security forces apprehended a cadre of NDFB(S) from Nabinagar forest village under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.

Based on information about presence of militant cadre, a joint operation was launched by police, army 3 Rajput and CRPF Cobra 210 battalion(Bn) at the area in the early morning at 3:30 AM and apprehended a NDFB(S).

He was identified as Puren Mushahary of Kushumdisha, Runikhata PS of Chirang district.

One .32 revolver with three live rounds ammunitions and a Nokia mobile without sim card.

Puren Mushahary was 43 batch trained cadre of NDFB(S),who had earlier surrendered and rejoined NDFB(S). He was collecting money from soft targets and handing over to NDFB(S) hardcore cadre Batha. Further interrogation is going on,a senior police officer said.

In yet another operation, an information had been received that kidnappers were planning to kidnap an Agriculture Chief Scientist Officer of Telepara,Gossaigaon. Immediately alerted all the PS staff to be on ground. Based on source information and ground intelligence, Kokrajhar police intercepted and recovered the said vehicle AS-01-AK-1622 at Dawagiri village and apprehended the accused driver Amolesh Roy of Padmabil Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar and the other co-accused fled away taking advantage of darkness. In this regard a case has been registered vide Gossaigaon PS Case No.612/2016 U/S-120(B)/365/511 IPC. Further investigation is going on.

Kokrajhar, May 2:  A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district. KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
