Complaint against nurses in Kokrajhar civil hospital

Allegation has been lodged with Superintendent of Kokrajhar RNB Civil Hospital against serving nurses along the hospital for mishandled of a pregnant woman during delivery hour inside OT room which led to die of a new born baby on Friday.

A pregnant patient, identified as Nomita Das of Shantinagar(Ward No.2) was admitted to RNB civil hospital for delivery by early morning at around 4.30 am on Friday and gave birth a male baby by 10 am on normal condition, but unfortunately died after 2.30 hours by 12.30 pm on the same day.

Family of pregnant woman alleged that attending nurses did not care with positive response, rather they tortured patient by using abuse words and physically mishandled during delivery. They alleged that their new born baby died due to negligence of proper care from nurse and doctors at the hospital.Bengali federation demanded stern investigation into incident and warn for agitation path if hospital authority fail to identify involved alleged nurses within 24-hours.

“Serving nurses used abuse word on me besides tortured me with Scissors while processing for delivery inside OT room. I gave a male baby, but died on the same day”, said Nomita Das.

“Our patient was admitted to hospital yesterday morning after getting pain labour, by 10 am gave birth a male baby,but later after 2.30 baby died at the hospital due to negligence of speedy services”, said a family member.

‘We lodged a complaint with hospital authority demanding strict action. Take stern action against by early identification of alleged nurses, who used abuse words to the pregnant woman during delivery’, an activist of students federation.

Dr AS Sharma, Superintendent of RNB civil hospital said that a complaint letter received regarding mishandled on a pregnant woman. Investigation is on the allegation and involved would be punished if found guilty, Sharma said.

More than sixteen hundred NDFB cadres today formally laid down arms. In a ceremony organised at GMCH auditorium in the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal 1615 cadres of the outfit submitted their arms before the government authority. Welcoming them to the mainstream chief minister Sonowal hoped that the Paresh Baruah-led ULFA(I) would follow the path of the NDFB. A few days ago the government signed a tripritite peace treaty with all the factions of the NDFB. In the treaty the Centre and state government, reportedly, promised to upgrade the BTAD as BTR.
Several organisations including AAKRASU and ABAMSU have reportedly, called a 12-hour-long Assam bandh on January27 in protest against proposed UTC for BTAD. These organisations are apprehensive that the Union government is going to upgrade the BTC as UTC. Already, they have warned the Union government to abdicate such move.
Several organistions have expressed resentment over the Centre's move to upgrade the Bodo Territorial Council as Union Territorial Council. According to sources the Centre would soon sign a peace pact with the NDFB . In the pact upgradation of the BTC as a UTC would likely to take place, sources revealed. Opposing the move AKRASU, ABAMSU and many other organistaions of the BTAD have warned the Union government to abdicate such decision. These organisations have also termed the proposal as undemocratic.
