Despite tight security arrangement suspected ULFA(I) rebels exploded a series of blasts in Tinsukia district on Monday to make its strength felt.
The first explosion took place at the Indira Gandhi School at Laipuli at around 7 in the morning where there was no report of any casualty.
The second one bomb went off at Line No 6 of Badlabhata Tea Estate in Doomdooma. This was followed by the third one explosion at Masuwa. Another explosion took place at Gamtumati in Philobari area two days after the rebels killed two people and injured several others.
These have forced the people in the district to keep confined to their houses on Monday. Security forces have been carrying out counter insurgency operation in the vulnerable areas. But nobody has been arrested.
