New ANM training school at Tangla

Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply layed foundation stone of Ramesh Ch Saharia ANM Training School at Tangla in presence of Kamali Basumatary ,MLA Panery LAC on Saturday .In this connection an open meeting was held in the conference hall of RC Saharia Teacher Training College ,Tangla.Mridula Saharia,the former MLA of Panery LAC presided over the meeting.Dr Harakanta Das Ex Medical Health Officer explained the objective of the meeting.Rihan Daimary the minister of PHE ,Food and Civil Supply attended the meeting as chief guest. Delivering the inagural speech Mridula Sahariah said "We feel elated that my husband late RC Sahariah dreamt of such institution in the area,and we are turning his dreams into reality. Expressing her gratitude to Minister Rihon Daimary and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary she said they have represented their constituencies since 2001.She also expressed her gratitude to the media persons of the area.

Speaking on the ocassion Rihon Daimari said " RC Sahariah trust has taken up commendable works in the area fom B.ED College,Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(D.M.L.T) courses and ANM training school are first of the kind in the district. Daimary also said that due to poverty our students can not pursue such courses. He further assured that he will discuss the matter with BTC Chief Hagrama Mahillary to help some students from WPT scheme to get financial help. He also stressed on need of Skill development programmes in the district.Referring to the flood scenario he said" I visited the Nalbari, Chirang,Udalguri district.Hundreds of acres of lands are inundated under water. Long term plannings are needed to tackle flood. Condemning in strict words the Kokrajhar incident. Daimary said"In the multi-ethnic multi-culture society of ours people needs to remain united to prevail peace and fraternity of brotherhood in the society."

Kamali Basumatary MLA Panery LAC said " ANM nursing has a wide career opportunities. Earlier students of these areas had to travel to far flung place to pursue such courses. I am thankful to RC Sahariah Trust for taking up such institute in Tangla. The MLA recalled her youthhood days when RC Sahariah was MLA of Panery LAC,and she visited the MLA at Dispur MLA Hostel. I am thankful to the people as I have been voted to power for the fourth consecutive term. We should abolish violence,Kokrajhar incident is condemning people were killed like anything else. Unemployment is the greatest issue I feel that needs to be solved said Basumatary.

"We are quite hopeful that BJP alliance government will bring development to the state". She also assured of projects of potable drinking water to the people of greater Tangla area. Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary were also felicitated on the ocassion with Japi,Phulam Gamocha,seleng chador and packet of books.

On the first day on May 14 as a part of the celebration unfurling of flag was done by Mintu Pathak President of the organizing committee which was followed by plantation of saplings. With an aim to infuse knowledge on career making in the youth, a one day free ' workshop on career counselling programme was held at Tangla College wherein around 250 students participated. AKRSU regional committee organized an annual meet of its members at Chilarai Bhawan located near Tangla College on Sunday last. Followed by hoisting of the student body's flag,homage to martyrs a general meeting was organized at 11 am. The meeting was inagurated by Dibyajyoti Kumar Deka President of the district committee.The meet was presided by Rudra Deka. In view of the security for the ensuing declaration of Assembly election results on May 19 and growing road accidents , the Udalguri district administration has felt the need organise the traffic system. A team of officials drawn from the district traffic police, transport and enforcement departments leaded by Bhaskar Dutta DTO Udalguri on Sunday undertook a drive at M.B Road near the Tangla HS Field to penalise the drivers of overcrowded vehicles and driving without helmets and driving licences. A spate of suicides specially among youths in the last couple of days has sent shockwaves through the district. An alarming 8 cases of suicides during April 30 to May 13 reported in the district. The last two reports are one of 65 year old Bhubaneswar Deka of Teliapara village who allegedly committed suicide at about 2.30 am on Friday and other of a 2nd semester Political science student of Cotton College. Unidentified miscreants fired rounds of gun shots at the residence of lawyer Rajiv Khaglary at Maibanguri of Udalguri district. The incident occured on Thursday pre-dawn at about 2 am. Miscreants who came in motorbike fired rounds of gun shots with automatic guns and immediately fled away. Police went to the scene and found 7 empty cartridges of AK 47 rifle. No persons have been reported to be hurt in the incident. Police investigations are on. The lawyer who practices at Udalguri district court could not be reached over phone for further inputs.
A Maha Bishnu Yajna has been organised at Shivaganga Bolbom Nonai river bank, Tangla from May 8 with religious fervour. The Yajna will last for 8 day and will conclude on May 16. A large number of devotees are thronging the site from within and outside the district. 11 priests from Varanasi are engaging in the Yajna from dawn to dusk.
Sensation has been prevailing in the district following the killing of NDFB (R ) cadre who was shot dead by unidentified gunman at Kawlibhangi village   of Udalguri district on Tuesday afternoon at about 3.20 pm. The cadre was traveling from Tangla to his native village Kawlibhanga with his Pulsar bike bearing registration number AS27 A 2654. Gunman in a  motorbike shot dead the cadre near his residence from point blank range. The cadre has been identified as one Kamlin Boro (27). At a time when human trafficking cases in Udalguri district has steeply rised, and easy-going girls are lured and trafficked to various parts of the countryi. Two girls of No. 3 Hatimarasuba of Udalguri district, missing since three months were rescued at New Delhi and brought back home by the efforts of Dimakuchi OC Bakul Kakati on Sunday. The traffickers- Anita Munda and Badal have been absconding. Later, the girls were sent for medical treatment to Mangaldai civil hospital.
