New ANM training school at Tangla
Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply layed foundation stone of Ramesh Ch Saharia ANM Training School at Tangla in presence of Kamali Basumatary ,MLA Panery LAC on Saturday .In this connection an open meeting was held in the conference hall of RC Saharia Teacher Training College ,Tangla.Mridula Saharia,the former MLA of Panery LAC presided over the meeting.Dr Harakanta Das Ex Medical Health Officer explained the objective of the meeting.Rihan Daimary the minister of PHE ,Food and Civil Supply attended the meeting as chief guest. Delivering the inagural speech Mridula Sahariah said "We feel elated that my husband late RC Sahariah dreamt of such institution in the area,and we are turning his dreams into reality. Expressing her gratitude to Minister Rihon Daimary and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary she said they have represented their constituencies since 2001.She also expressed her gratitude to the media persons of the area.
Speaking on the ocassion Rihon Daimari said " RC Sahariah trust has taken up commendable works in the area fom B.ED College,Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(D.M.L.T) courses and ANM training school are first of the kind in the district. Daimary also said that due to poverty our students can not pursue such courses. He further assured that he will discuss the matter with BTC Chief Hagrama Mahillary to help some students from WPT scheme to get financial help. He also stressed on need of Skill development programmes in the district.Referring to the flood scenario he said" I visited the Nalbari, Chirang,Udalguri district.Hundreds of acres of lands are inundated under water. Long term plannings are needed to tackle flood. Condemning in strict words the Kokrajhar incident. Daimary said"In the multi-ethnic multi-culture society of ours people needs to remain united to prevail peace and fraternity of brotherhood in the society."
Kamali Basumatary MLA Panery LAC said " ANM nursing has a wide career opportunities. Earlier students of these areas had to travel to far flung place to pursue such courses. I am thankful to RC Sahariah Trust for taking up such institute in Tangla. The MLA recalled her youthhood days when RC Sahariah was MLA of Panery LAC,and she visited the MLA at Dispur MLA Hostel. I am thankful to the people as I have been voted to power for the fourth consecutive term. We should abolish violence,Kokrajhar incident is condemning people were killed like anything else. Unemployment is the greatest issue I feel that needs to be solved said Basumatary.
"We are quite hopeful that BJP alliance government will bring development to the state". She also assured of projects of potable drinking water to the people of greater Tangla area. In yet another case of suicide of a depression, a resident of Tangla Ward No.4 Mridul Kalita (42) reportedly committed suicide in the premises Pub-Tangla L.P. school on Friday mid-night following an dowry case filed against him by his wife. Kins of the deceased informed that "The man was in sound health and had good conversation with family members and even had his dinner on Friday. We came to learn about the incident in the morning." Amid growing incidents of statewide men-elephant conflict, yet another full grown elephant died of electrocution in Udlaguri district sending shockwaves among the nature lovers. The shocking incident took place at Dimakuchi along the Indo-Bhutan border at night where the pregnant female elephant was moving in the human habitat in search of food. In a major breakthrough Tangla police nabbed one NDFB(R) cadre named Amne Boro alias B.Onthai (28) S/O Dhandal Boro a resident of Anadhuwa area under Panery PS. Reportedly he is suspected to be involved in the killing of a NDFB(R) cadre in Kawlibhaga area under Tangla PS on May 10 last. However it was not clear due to lack of information whether the cadre was of surrendered or active faction of the group. Reportedly he was nabbed by a team of Tangla police from ongoing Deul mela at Balipara.
Five members of a family of Uttar Kuiwa Beel in Kalaigaon area of Udalguri district fell ill on Saturday after consuming wild mushrooms. Bhanita Boro studying at Uttar Darrang HS School and Baisumoi Boro studying at Soibari Vidyapith suffered stomach cramps and started vomiting during school time. The school authorities rushed the students to nearby Health centre. On the otherhand the parents of the childerns Dwijen Boro and Nisha Boro were also rushed to nearby Health centre. Their third daughter also fell ill who was rushed to Harisinga Primary Health centre. They consumed the wild mushrooms in their breakfast meal. Their health is stated to be stable and ameliorate.
The troops of the 37th Bn of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) Mangaldai stationed at Bongrum along the Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri district seized a cache of smuggled timber wood during an operation carried on Tuesday. The SSB troops succeeded in apprehending one Jhon Daimary (23) in connection with the timber. The youth is a resident of Sangrapara village under Harisinga PS of the district. Dimakuchi area of Udalguri bordering Indo-Bhutan border is lagging behind in many spheres, one of them being proper healthcare. On Tuesday Pherengadao, a viluntary organsiation of Tangla organised a day-long free health camp on Tuesday. Four physicians namely Dr. Khagen Nath, Dr.Nabanita Hazarika, Dr.B.K Sarma and Dr. Biju Sarma attended the health camp and treated near about 200 people ranging from children to aged persons.
Muslims around the town observed ‘Shab-e-barat’ or the ‘night of deliverance’ on Sunday night. Shab-e-Barat, the night of deliverance, falls on the 14th day of the Islamic month of Shaban.
