Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma and Upendra Nath Brahma Trust condoles over demise of Maheswsta Devi, noted writer and awardee of Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award.

Brahma said, India lost a great writer with her died.Devi contributed lots towards development of literary works through her creation in Indian literature. Devi was also awarded Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award.

MLA Mevani produced in court in Kokrajhar

Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. Mevani was sent into police custody for three days. Mevani was arrested late last night in Gujarat by Assam Police after BJP leader Arup Kumar Dey filed an FIR with Kokrajhar police station. KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. The victim was rushed to the RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar. Mukesh Kumar of Bihar was identified as the victim. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district.
