Plantation drive at Bodoland Buddhist Park

A plantation drive was carried out on Tuesday at Bodoland Buddhist Park along Gaurang River bank involving villager and social activists.

BTC Secretary Rahila Brahma kick off to start the plantation programme with planting a sapling on the river bank,which was organised by Bodoland Buddhist Park management committee to make green and beautification of Kokrajhar.

Around 300 plants were planted on the day along River bank side to protect as well beautification of Gaurang River side in Kokrajhar.

Brahma said that it was an initiative to make green nature and beautification in the region.

Anjali Bodosa,organiser of the programme told that the plantation programme was carried out to plant saplings through which natural beautification would be restored.

Kokrajhar police arrested a lineman of NDFB-S from Jharbari village under Patgaon police outpost today.He was identified as Birkhang Narzary and recovered cash 39,000 along with mobile handset,passbook,a bike. Security forces arrested a cadre of NDFB-S from Serfanguri area in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The cadre was apprehended during search operation that carried out while getting information about presence of militant cadres. He was identified as Salen Basunatary alias B Sankhang. A person was electrocuted near Kokrajhar bazaar this evening in Kokrajhar town. He was identified as Ekramul Mondal(42) of Bilasipara in Dhubri district. He was engaged as dhalai labour at a construction of building in Kokrajhar town near main bazaar.
