Torch rally seeking Bodoland, Gorkhaland

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), NDFB-P, PJACBM in association with All Assam Gorkha Students Union (AAGSU) organized a torch rally in Kokrajhar seeking early creation of Bodoland state and extending solidarity to the Gorkhaland situation on Thursday.

Nearly two thousand activists from ABSU, NDFB-P, PJACBM and AAGSU with banner,placards joined hands in the rally,which was started from Bodofa Children Park in Kokrajhar that traversed to JD Road,fly over and concluded at Pragati Bhawan. The rallies’ shouted slogans demanding early creation of smaller states, including Bodoland, Gorkhaland state under Article 2 & 3 of Indian constitution to pave way good governance and healthy development in the region.

The ABSU extended solidarity to the Gorkhaland issue and urged the centre to take bold step while making early solution to the agitated groups through political dialogue so that country could get healthy situation.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma participating the rally demanded early creation of smaller states across the country . He has urged the centre to take bold step while bringing solutions to the smaller state issue through political dialogue. 

'Today smaller state demand groups are coming out jointly to put pressure government over their demands.So, government should come forward with pragmatic way', Brahma said. 

Kwrwmdao Wary, ABSU leader said the movement groups jointly come forward for the smaller state issues through joint venture. He has demanded early creation of smaller states across the country.
