Wild loner kills one more:DFO meets Pramila Rani

One Lawa Majhi (45) was killed by a loner wild elephant at Bormukali near Nonai forest range office in Udalguri district last night at 8 pm.The person was coming home from market while came on the way of two loners.So far 84 people have been killed by wild elephants during last five years in the district against the deaths of 34 wild elephants. Seven people have been killed by wild elephants in the district during the current year.DFO, Dhansiri forest Division,Udalguri has sought appointment with Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma regarding severe man-elephant conflict in the district and non payment of ex-gratia to victims for last two years.
