RMC on crack over party supports

Cracks appeared in the Religious Minority Council(RMC),BTC region over the issue of supporting to the Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) party in the ensuing Assam assembly election.The rift appeared in the council after president Sohrab Khan announced openly that RMC leaves to support the BPF party in the election.

Speaking the reporters on Friday at Kokrajhar Press Club,Rijaul Haque Sarkar,general secretary of the RMC told that the council has not been left the BPF party.We are still with BPF party,who was working all round development and welfare of the region.The reaction come after the Khan addressed the reporters at Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Thursday that RMC announced to leave the ruling party ahead assembly election. Sarkar has denied the statement of Sohrab said that it was his personal view, not of council decision to leave the ruling party in the region.

‘We have no any decision to leave the ruling BPF party at this juncture’,Sarkar adding said that the council still good term with the party and no any decision to step against ruling party. He has accused of that Khan has been maintaining link with Congress to gain his personal benefit that is why he is stating baseless remarks over the RMC in the region.

He has claimed that the RMC has not cracked within organisation,but Khan he hilself making baseless statement to show his personal interest. He also told that the RMC has been scheduled to hold central executive meeting on March 13 at Magurmari in Kokrajhar district and committee would discuss thoroughly over the present situation within organisation. Delegates from ten district committees are participating in the meeting and would discuss on the arisen situation within organisation.The council is likely replace president Khan for his unwanted remarks over supporting political party in the upcoming election.

The mysterious death of Renuka Basumatary takes new turn in Kokrajhar a day after the suicide note was recovered from her Subashpalli residence.Police recovered suicide note after she committed suicide following a controversial affairs with Uma Charan Barman in Kokrajhar town.Police said Renuka left her suicide note at her residence which would help them probe the entire case. Leading parties and organizations in Kokrajhar have vehemently opposed Ranjan Daimary’s arrest in the run up to the tripartite peace talks.Addressing a joint press conference of the four organisations held at PWD Guest House on Wednesday, ABWWF president Mithinga Basumatary along with Bodo Writers Academy vice president Rajen Basumatary, Bodo Harimu Afad Billa Kumar Brahma and Boro Somaj president Rajendra Nath Boro said that the rearrest of the NDFB chief on September 29 would put the peace process in peril.They demanded immediate and unconditional release of Daimary before holding peace talks with the outfit. Security forces in Chirang arrested yet another NDFB(Songbijit) cadre from  Runikata Tinali on Tuesday a day after four cadres of this outfit were killed at an encounter.Identified as Simang Basumatary(Tobra) of Runikata Tinali under Runikata police station, he was arrested in the morning. Police seized a 7.65 pistol, two live bullets from his possession.
Kokrajhar police are believed to have received stunning revelations on an arms smuggling racket in BTAD after they arrested a person from Bimraguri on Monday night.But police officials are tightlipped on the revelations.
