Green Kokrajhar mission launches
The Kokrajhar Municipality Board launched its Swach Kokrajhar Mission & Green Kokrajhar Mission today at a function here held at Basic Training Centre in the presence of huge public and officials in Kokrajhar to make the town garbage free zone.
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary graced the function as chief guest and declared the mission launched in the town to keep neat and clean for healthy living in the area.
Borgoyary, in his speech said that the mission has been initiated by municipality board to build up smelled free zone as well as neat & clean town among populous living.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary,Rahila Brahma,Secretary BTC,Bishnu Narzary,Chairman KMB were also present on the day.
Earlier in the day,Borgoyary inaugurated the Solid & Liquid Resource Management(SLRM) centre in Kokrajhar Municipality Board under MANASA and Sawch Bharat Mission.He also planted sapling on the occasion near Gaurang river.
A tricycle rally was also carried out to create awareness about bringing awareness on keeping neat and clean among common masses in the town.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
